He's a dangerous opponent and a high-ranking ninja. The two things most people remember about him though is that he's supposedly copied a thousand techniques and apparently once cut a lightning bolt in two.
He definitely was. The fire thing he did is something called ninjutsu--those are the techniques I was talking about. It's not just limited to fire, though.
[ Lots of variables, here. It leaves him wondering, if only a little. Either way, this has shed a little light on the more enigmatic of his team mates. ]

I suppose "depends" is true of many of us, in that instance.

Ah, but where are my manners? I'm sure you've noticed by now, but I'm November 11– though I also go by Jack if that's more to your liking. It's very nice to meet you.

You've fought him?

Once. It was a learning experience, really. He's very quick.
no subject
That he is. He's got his reputation back home for a reason.

What sort of reputation? Aside from the avid porn reader sort, of course.
[ this would've been good to know a few months ago. ]

A thousand techniques? I don't quite follow. Cutting a lightning bolt in half is rather impressive, rumour or not. It stemmed from somewhere.

How did the two of you fight? Was it only hand-to-hand?

For the most part. He used a bit of fire, which required the fastest hand gesture I've ever seen. I got the feeling he was holding back, though.

Does he tend to do that? Hold back, I mean.
[ on one hand, they were sort of teammates, on the other... dagger had been asking them to try and actively kill each other. ]
no subject
Depends on what opponent he's facing and what else was happening at the time.
no subject
And if said opponent was trying to actively kill him?
[ Some things aren't quite lining up. ]
no subject
Like I said, it would depend on what the opponent is like. How skilled they are, why they're trying to kill him, etc.

Haruno Sakura. It's nice to meet you too.
no subject
Well then, Haruno-san, what do you make of your time here, thus far?
[ what a loaded question. ]

Calling it hectic would be an understatement.
