[Is November the same? He hadn't gotten that impression. July is a blank slate, as close to Tranquil as anyone can be without actually being Tranquil. November seems to have capacities beyond that.]
I know he can't be bothered, it makes him a very good partner.

When it comes down to it, we're cut from the same cloth, he and I. His abilities and makeup differ only slightly as a Doll– they're passive mediums.
[He's not a blank slate. Moreover, he's learned to manipulate, rather than be Doll-like and allow the world to pass by him. That's not a mark against July, though; he clearly remembers the boy tugging on his sleeve so he wouldn't get himself blown up.]
A Doll, just as I'm labeled a Contractor. Dolls are observers, Contractors are weapons.
FROM: 11.november@cdc.org
We're obedient for different reasons, though they overlap in the aspect of self-preservation. Dolls less so, as they tend not to have much want. July's not completely empty, don't let that fool you.
[The next question doesn't really take him by surprise, but there is a twinge of interest in where this conversation has gone. Is Anders sympathizing?]
[He knows how a Tranquil would answer that question, and he doesn't want to delve too deeply into similarities and differences. All he knows is that it's a horrible fate, and he's afraid of it.]
